Dr. Orlando Auciello

Auciello graduated with honors: MS (1973), PhD (1976)–Institute “Balseiro”/Universidad Nacional Cuyo-Argentina); EE-Universidad Córdoba-Argentina (1964-1970). Postdoctoral-McMaster University, Canada (1977-1979); Distinguished Scientist-University Toronto-Canada (1979-1984), Associate Professor/NCSU-USA (1984-1988), Distinguished Scientist-MCNC-USA (1988-1996), Fellow (1996-2012)-Argonne Laboratory-USA. Endowed Chair Professor-University of Texas-Dallas (2012-2025), Distinguished Research Scientists -Texas State University (2026-present). Auciello directs R&D on multifunctional oxide (Ferroelectric. Piezoelectric, High-k Dielectrics films) and nanocarbon films (novel Ultrananocrystalline Diamond (UNCDTM)) and applications to industrial, high-tech/medical devices/prostheses. UNCDTM technology marketed for industrial products by ADT (Auciello Co-Founder-2003, profitable 2014, sold to large company-2019), and Original Biomedical Implants (OBI-USA, 2013-present) / OBI-México (2016-present) / Auciello Co-Founder, marketing superior medical devices/prostheses based on best biocompatible UNCD coating (because made of C atoms-Life’s element in human DNA, cells, molecules).. Auciello edited 33 books, published 520 articles, holds 23 patents, He was APL’s Associate Editor, currently Integrated Ferroelectrics, Functional Diamond, Coatings’ Associate Editor. President-Materials Research Society-USA (2013). Fellow- AAAS, MRS, IAAM, Auciello has numerous Awards.
